ECT PE Teacher – County Durham Secondary School

September 2026 start, full time, perfect for Early Career Teachers.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an ECT PE Teacher for a supportive secondary school in County Durham. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified PE teachers to begin their teaching career in a welcoming environment with strong mentorship and professional development.

The school offers a well resourced PE department, excellent sports facilities, and a commitment to staff wellbeing and ECT support. You'll teach PE across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory based lessons while receiving guidance from experienced colleagues.

What you'll be doing:

  • Teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering high quality, engaging lessons
  • Managing sports hall and outdoor teaching environments
  • Supporting extracurricular sports clubs and fixtures
  • Completing your ECT induction with full support from the school
  • Working collaboratively with the PE department

You need:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Degree in PE, Sports Science, or related subject
  • Passion for PE and inspiring young people through sport
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
