Location: Swansea
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:00pm
Pay: £92.63 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and motivated Sports Coach to work within a welcoming primary school in Swansea, supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with a background in sports coaching, fitness, team leadership, youth work, or mentoring who are looking to transfer their skills into an educational setting. You will support children both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage in learning, develop social skills, regulate emotions, and build confidence through positive relationships and structured activities.
Many of the pupils you will support may present behaviour as a form of communication. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and committed to understanding each child's individual needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs throughout the school day.
- Use sports, physical activity, and engagement techniques to build positive relationships.
- Assist children with emotional regulation and social development.
- Encourage participation in classroom activities and learning opportunities.
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and provide consistent support.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience in sports coaching, PE instruction, youth work, mentoring, care, or education.
- Is confident working with children and young people.
- Understands that behaviour can be a form of communication.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is proactive, energetic, and passionate about supporting young people.
- Holds a valid DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
