Job Title: Sports Coach (SEN School)
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term time only considered)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Sports Coach to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN school in Blackpool. The successful candidate will deliver inclusive, engaging, and structured physical activity sessions tailored to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about sport, physical development, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver differentiated PE and sports sessions appropriate to pupils’ individual needs and abilities

Promote physical wellbeing, teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour through sport

Adapt activities to ensure accessibility, inclusion, and safety for all pupils

Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and therapy staff to support EHCP outcomes

Maintain a safe learning environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety requirements

Monitor pupil progress and contribute to informal assessments and reports as required
Person Specification
-
Experience working as a sports coach, PE instructor, or similar role
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
-
A calm, patient, and flexible approach with strong behaviour management skills
-
Relevant coaching or sports qualification (e.g. Level 2 or above) preferred
-
A good understanding of inclusive practice and child-centred learning
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
