⭐About the Role

Do you love working with young people? Are you confident, energetic, and passionate about using sport to inspire the next generation?

Teaching Personnel is looking for a Sporty Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11–16 at one of our fantastic partner secondary schools in Monmouthshire. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who’s confident, motivated, and thrives on helping young people grow through teamwork, coaching, and positive encouragement.

You’ll be supporting pupils who need that extra boost — whether that’s helping them refocus in class, mentoring them through challenges, or using physical activity to release energy and build confidence. You’ll be a role model, a motivator, and a steady, supportive presence in their school day.

From active sessions to 1:1 classroom support, you’ll play a huge part in helping students overcome barriers, feel included, and make real progress — academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is an amazing chance to bring your passion for sport and youth development straight into the classroom and make a genuine impact every day!

We want someone who is:

  • Confident leading and supporting students aged 11–16
  • Comfortable mentoring, coaching, and motivating young people
  • Enthusiastic and energetic, with a positive attitude
  • Great at building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Able to help re-engage students who struggle to focus
  • Patient, resilient, and consistent when managing behaviour
  • Passionate about seeing young people grow and succeed

Experience in coaching, mentoring, youth work or sports leadership is highly beneficial — but your attitude, confidence, and passion for helping young people matter most!
