Specialist Teaching Assistant
Job description
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–18 with a range of Special Educational Needs. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be joining a highly respected specialist education setting set within spacious, peaceful grounds. The school is widely recognised for:

Pupils have a variety of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe and complex learning difficulties, Communication and sensory processing needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support

Assist pupils with learning, personal development and daily routines

Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
-
Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
Requirements
-
Minimum 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting children with SEN needs
-
Experience within specialist or SEN settings is highly desirable
-
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school’s location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
