About the School

We are working with a SEND school in Portsmouth, which is designed specifically to meet the needs of neurodiverse children, across Primary and Secondary ages. The school provides a supportive and stimulating environment for both staff and students, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

The school caters for a range of needs, with a primary focus on:

  • Autism
  • Anxiety
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Physical needs
  • Sensory needs

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality and bespoke teaching to individual needs and small groups of students, up to 8 pupils in a class.
  • Identify and support students across all levels of need.
  • Set realistic targets and maintain high aspirations for every learner.
  • Create and maintain a stimulating, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement care plans.
  • Implement and maintaing safeguarding protocols and procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working within SEN settings.
  • Patient, calm, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement personalised care plans.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
