SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (ASAP Start)
Location: Blackpool
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Teaching Personnel are seeking a caring, dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 5 with additional learning and behavioural needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a pupil who needs consistency, encouragement and tailored support to thrive.
About the Role
You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child who requires additional help to access the curriculum, regulate emotions and build confidence in the classroom. Your role will include:
- Providing tailored academic support in literacy, numeracy and classroom tasks
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Building a trusting relationship that supports engagement and independence
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans
- Encouraging social skills and positive interactions with peers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs)
- A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow guidance from teaching staff
- The flexibility to adapt support strategies to meet the child’s changing needs
- A passion for helping children reach their full potential
