SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Blackpool)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Blackpool who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible.
This role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to two children in Year 1 who have identified Special Educational Needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school is looking for a calm, patient and resilient individual who can offer consistent support and help the pupils to access learning and manage their emotions positively within the classroom environment.
The Role
- Supporting two pupils in Year 1 with ASC
- Assisting with learning activities and differentiation
- Implementing strategies to support behaviour regulation and emotional needs
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Providing structured, nurturing support throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working with children with complex needs, particularly ASC
- Confidence and proven ability in behaviour management
- A patient, empathetic and consistent approach
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and SEN support
