SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Blackpool)

Start Date: ASAP
Agency: Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Blackpool who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible.

This role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to two children in Year 1 who have identified Special Educational Needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school is looking for a calm, patient and resilient individual who can offer consistent support and help the pupils to access learning and manage their emotions positively within the classroom environment.

The Role

  • Supporting two pupils in Year 1 with ASC
  • Assisting with learning activities and differentiation
  • Implementing strategies to support behaviour regulation and emotional needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Providing structured, nurturing support throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs, particularly ASC
  • Confidence and proven ability in behaviour management
  • A patient, empathetic and consistent approach
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and SEN support
