Sociology Teacher – Good School | Milton Keynes | Full-Time | October 2026 Start
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a Good school in Milton Keynes on a full-time, fixed-term basis for the entire 2026/27 academic year, starting in October 2026. The successful candidate will teach Sociology at GCSE and A-Level and will also undertake pastoral responsibilities.
Applications are welcomed from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who are passionate about delivering high-quality lessons and inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
The Role

Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Sociology lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
- Provide effective pastoral support, promoting students' wellbeing and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the curriculum and share best practice.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and wider school activities.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.
Experience and Qualifications
- Ability to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5.
- A degree in Sociology or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
