Teaching Personnel are working with a highly regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes, proudly part of the 5 Dimensions Trust, to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Sociology Teacher for a full-time position starting in October 2026.

THE ROLE
As the Sociology Teacher, you will take full responsibility for the teaching and learning of Sociology across the school.
You will:
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging Sociology lessons across KS4 and KS5
• Teach Sociology up to A Level
• Take full responsibility for your classes, including planning, preparation, assessment and marking
• Deliver lessons that challenge students to think critically, analyse evidence and develop well-reasoned arguments
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support academic development
• Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE and A Level examinations
• Differentiate effectively to meet the needs and abilities of all learners
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, effort and academic achievement
• Contribute to the wider life of the department and school
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching practice
• Build positive relationships with students and support them to achieve their academic potential
• Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, CPD and other professional responsibilities
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a passionate Sociology Teacher who can bring the subject to life and inspire students beyond the specification.
You should have:
• Strong subject knowledge in Sociology
• Experience teaching Sociology at secondary level
• The ability to teach up to A Level
• High expectations of students and yourself
• Excellent classroom management
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• A commitment to achieving excellent outcomes
• A genuine passion for developing young people's understanding of society and the world around them
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is not a short-term supply placement.
It is a FULL-TIME ROLE covering the FULL ACADEMIC YEAR, giving you the opportunity to become a valued member of the school community and make a genuine impact on students' progress.
PAY TO SCALE
The successful candidate will be paid in line with the appropriate teaching scale for the role and their experience.
