SEMH Teaching Assistant
Full-time
£85 - £100 per day.
Bromley
Our client school, a renowned centre of excellence for educating vulnerable young people, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in their alternative provision.

We prioritise the needs of the individual, recognising that they face their own unique set of challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored support to SEMH pupils, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans, providing additional guidance and encouragement.
• Support students emotionally, building their confidence and fostering trust.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of each student.
• Collaborate with the wider school team, including therapists and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.
• Encourage and facilitate the participation of students in extracurricular activities, including music, food tech, and general cleanliness.
• Help students develop essential life skills necessary for leading happy and fulfilled lives.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and helping them overcome challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience to effectively support students with SEMH needs.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students.
• A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
