ASC Specialist Teacher (EYFS Focus)
Location: BB2 Area (Blackburn)
Start Date: 1st December
Duration: Full Term (with potential extension)
Contract Type: Full-time
We are seeking an experienced ASC Specialist Teacher to join our dedicated team and support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching tailored to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with EYFS curriculum and individual needs.
- Follow guidance from the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and collaborate effectively.
- Meet outcomes outlined in pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Carry out Attention Autism sessions to develop engagement and communication.
- Teach and reinforce visual routines, including Now and Next boards.
- Create a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes independence and progress.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children with ASC, ideally within EYFS.
- Strong understanding of EHCP processes and strategies for SEND support.
- Ability to plan, assess, and adapt learning to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
