SEND Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools in Northamptonshire. This role involves supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and thrive in a supportive educational environment.
Positions are available in primary, secondary, and specialist settings, offering flexibility and variety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist students with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and SEMH
- Support learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Assist with personal care where required
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to support personal care needs where required
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
