About the Role

A rewarding opportunity is available for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Leyland. Starting September 2026, this temp-to-perm role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in education.

You will work within a specialist SEN class, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition and Speech and Language challenges, helping them access learning in a meaningful and supportive way.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with additional needs in their daily learning
Deliver personalised support strategies
Promote communication and engagement
Assist in managing classroom behaviour
Track and report on student progress

Requirements

Previous SEND experience preferred
Understanding of ASC and communication needs
Positive, patient, and adaptable approach
Strong commitment to supporting children’s development
