Job description

We're Hiring: SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Hartlepool

Are you a patient, dedicated and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role? A welcoming primary school in Hartlepool is seeking a committed 1:1 SEND TA to support a pupil with complex needs from January 2026.

Start Date: January 2026
Location: Hartlepool
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing focused 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND needs

  • Assisting with personal care routines and mobility support

  • Supporting learning, engagement and social development throughout the school day

  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team

  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, ideally on a 1:1 basis

  • Confident supporting personal care and mobility needs

  • Calm, empathetic and able to build positive, trusting relationships

  • Relevant SEND or TA qualifications welcomed

  • Flexible, proactive and a strong team player with good communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
