We're Hiring: SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Hartlepool
Are you a patient, dedicated and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role? A welcoming primary school in Hartlepool is seeking a committed 1:1 SEND TA to support a pupil with complex needs from January 2026.
Start Date: January 2026
Location: Hartlepool
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
What You’ll Be Doing:

Providing focused 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND needs
-
Assisting with personal care routines and mobility support
-
Supporting learning, engagement and social development throughout the school day
-
Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
-
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with children with SEND, ideally on a 1:1 basis
-
Confident supporting personal care and mobility needs
-
Calm, empathetic and able to build positive, trusting relationships
-
Relevant SEND or TA qualifications welcomed
-
Flexible, proactive and a strong team player with good communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
