SEN Tutor – Portsmouth

Flexible One-to-One Tutoring Opportunities with TP Tutors

TP Tutors is recruiting enthusiastic SEN Tutors to provide high-quality one-to-one tuition across Portsmouth and surrounding communities.

Our tutors work with children and young people who have a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and those requiring additional support to re-engage with learning. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver personalised education that has a lasting impact.

Location: Portsmouth and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities
Pay: £25–£30 per hour
Delivery: Individual tuition in schools, community venues or learners' homes

The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition that meets individual learning needs
  • Design engaging learning activities that support progress and development
  • Modify your teaching style to maximise learner engagement
  • Encourage confidence, resilience and independent learning
  • Monitor progress and keep accurate tuition records
  • Work collaboratively with learners, families and education professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND
  • Background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, teaching assistance or similar educational roles
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to travel throughout Portsmouth and nearby areas
  • Strong organisational and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
