SEN Tutor – Durham (DH1)
Location: Durham, DH1
Hours: Part-time | Weekdays | School Hours
Pay: £25–£30 per hour (depending on the placement)

We are seeking enthusiastic tutors to provide personalised one-to-one or small group tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to help learners build confidence, improve attainment, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.
The Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet each student's individual learning needs.

Adapt teaching methods, lesson plans and resources to support a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional learning needs.

Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in core subjects such as English, Maths and Science.

Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and independence.

Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and session outcomes.
What We're Looking For
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN.

Experience teaching or tutoring English, Maths, Science or other core subjects.

A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) is desirable.

Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

A patient, adaptable and compassionate approach to supporting learners.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
-
Right to work in the UK.
