SEN Tutor – Durham (DH1)

We are seeking enthusiastic tutors to provide personalised one-to-one or small group tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet each student's individual learning needs.

• Adapt teaching methods, lesson plans and resources to support a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional learning needs.

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in core subjects such as English, Maths and Science.

• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and independence.

• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and session outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.

• Experience teaching or tutoring English, Maths, Science or other core subjects.

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) is desirable.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• A patient, adaptable and compassionate approach to supporting learners.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Right to work in the UK.
