SEN Teaching Assistant/Sport Coach Job Plymouth

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for people with great backgrounds in some of the following:

  • Outdoor education - (Activities instructors, Level 1-5 Coaches etc. Experience running sessions, safety of students, 1:1 support on sessions

  • Sports coaches - (Sport activities coaches, Sport development in education) Experience working with students in sport and coaching. Supporting 1:1 or development courses.

  • Care workers - (Care companies, care homes, support) familiar looking after people on 1:1 basis. Providing support on a daily basis.

  • Youth workers - (Youth centres, Pastoral work, Community centres,) working with students in youth clubs and centres. Students who struggle in school or with life. Behavioural support.

About the role:

You will be part of a Plymouth based school, which offers individually focused education, to benefit and meet the specific needs of students.

You will be working closely with a student in a 1:1 or small group setting. You will aid the development and growth of students, by supporting their studies, and organising/running outdoor and sport activities. During your day, you will be responsible for helping with work set by teachers; however you will need to adapt this work to meet how your student learns best. The activities you take your student on can vary from swimming and trampolining to outdoor walks and football.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30, term time only.

Successful candidates:

  • Relevant experience and backgrounds listed above
  • Ideally an NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant subject
  • Enthusiastic, engaging and patient
  • Calm and empathetic manner
  • Good SEN experience
