SEN Teaching Assistant (Personal Care Experience Required)

Location: East London
(Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Havering)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in primary schools across East London.

This role is ideal for a confident, compassionate SEN TA with proven experience providing personal care to children with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD, learning difficulties, and physical needs
  • Providing personal care (toileting, hygiene, changing) with dignity and sensitivity
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group support
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

Essential requirements

To be considered, you must:

  • Have previous SEN TA experience
  • Have hands-on experience with personal care
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Be reliable, patient, and resilient

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
