Teaching Assistant - Autism

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant? Do you have experience working with children or adults with autism?

A local school in Kirkby are currently looking for an experienced special educational needs Teaching Assistant, to work one to one with a pupil in year 3 with autism. The role will be full time Monday - Friday, and is set to being in February 2020 until the end of the academic year in July 2020. To be successful for the role you must be able to commit to working the full remainder of the schools academic year, as continuity for the pupil each week is essential. For the ideal candidate there could potentially be an opportunity for a permenant contract, depending upon the schools funding for the pupil. 

The pupil needs help with their concentration in class, and emotional support throughout the day.

Ofsted have graded the school 'Good', and have been commended on their behaviour management and opportunities for progression. 

The role:

  • Start date, February 2020
  • Full time, fixed term contract
  • Kirkby area
  • GBP9.50 - GBP10.50 per hour 
  • Monday – Friday
  • Key stage 2 

 The school is easily accessible via public transport, and has a parking on site. 

The ideal Candidate:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment
  • Experienced working alongside children with lower level learning and special educational needs
  • Experience with both KS1 and KS2 curriculum
  • Experience working one to one with individuals with autism
  • Hard working and committed to supporting children with a variety of learning needs
  • Patient and supportive manner
