Job Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: GBP65-GBP75 per day

Contract Length: February 2020 to September 2020 with extension and permanent contract opportunities available

SEN Teaching Assistants are required for a newly opened school in Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames. They are searching for two caring and engaging special needs Teaching Assistants to join their expanding team. With all pupils having an SEN statement, pupils will be learning below the national learning levels so may be in secondary classes learning based on the primary curriculum.

Due to the varying needs in the school, they are looking for someone flexible who has either previous experience in schools, special needs support or in care settings.

SEN Teaching Assistant long-term contracts begin in February 2020 after the school half term with the successful teaching assistants being required to commit until September 2020. There are opportunities to extend or take on permanent contracts within the school if this is what you want to do.

The school will provide you with in-house support, fantastic colleagues and a fun, welcoming environment to both work in and develop a career. You will be working amongst like minded SEN Teaching Assistants and management where every child has the support they need to flourish.

The SEN Teaching Assistant roles are from Monday – Friday each week from 8:30 to 4:00pm with all staff required to be punctual due to the varying needs of the students.

Teaching Assistant - Requirements;

  • Experience working with primary or secondary aged pupils
  • Experience with special needs particularly autism, learning difficulties and speech and language needs
  • Experience/ willingness to support with positive behaviour management (Team Teach training provided at a subsidised rate) or personal care (toilet support)
  • Genuine interest in starting or developing career working with children
  • Available for work immediately and full-time
