Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding permanent opportunity where you can make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel is supporting a specialist education provider in Wimborne to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time permanent position starting in September 2026 or after October half term.

This is not a role for someone who is new to SEND education. We are seeking confident individuals who can hit the ground running and positively contribute from day one.

 

About the Position

You will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, social and emotional needs, and learning differences.

• Supporting learners within lessons and practical activities
• Encouraging communication, engagement and participation
• Implementing individual support plans
• Promoting independence and life skills
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviours
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Helping create an inclusive and nurturing environment

• Previous experience within SEND settings
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Patience, resilience and a positive outlook
• The ability to build professional relationships quickly
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
