Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of one of our specialist education partners in the Wimborne area for a full-time, permanent SEN Teaching Assistant to begin in September 2026.
We are looking for experienced educators who are ready to hit the ground running. This role is suited to someone who understands the demands of specialist education, can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues, and is committed to helping every learner reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll become an important member of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs in a structured, nurturing and engaging educational environment.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals, you'll help create meaningful learning experiences while promoting independence, communication, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Supporting pupils with Autism, communication difficulties and associated learning needs.
- Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions.
- Encouraging positive behaviour using consistent strategies.
- Assisting with personalised learning programmes.
- Helping students develop confidence, independence and social skills.
- Supporting classroom activities and adapting learning where required.
- Recording pupil progress and working closely with the wider staff team.
- Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment every day.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential).
- The confidence to work independently and become an effective member of the team from day one.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to school life.
- The ability to remain positive in a fast-paced specialist setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
