Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for a caring, motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across primary schools in Tameside. This role is perfect for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs and making a genuine difference in their school experience.

In this position, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and general learning delays. Your day may include providing 1:1 support, assisting small groups within the classroom and helping to implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing. You will work alongside the school’s SENCO and, when needed, external professionals to ensure each child receives the right level of support.

We are looking for someone patient, positive and adaptable, with experience working with children with additional needs in either a school, care or similar setting. Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting young learners are essential. Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
