SEN Teaching Assistant – Tameside Secondary School
Location:Tameside
Start Date:ASAP
Contract Type:Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Daily Rate: £89 – £115 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Tameside area to recruit a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role supporting students with additional needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to deliver personalised support to students with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, and SEMH. This support may take place in the classroom, in small group sessions, or on a one-to-one basis.
Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with SEN to access the curriculum and engage in learning

Implementing individual learning and behaviour plans
-
Encouraging student independence and promoting positive behaviour
-
Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
-
Supporting the emotional, social and academic development of pupils
Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care or youth work)
-
Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, empathetic approach
-
Confident in managing behaviour and providing pastoral support
-
Flexible, reliable and committed to supporting pupil progress
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Psychology degree, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
