Sen Teaching Assistant
Job description
We're looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people with additional needs and make a genuine difference to their education and day-to-day school experience.
You'll work closely with students who may have autism, ADHD, SEMH needs or other additional learning requirements, providing support in lessons and helping them to access the curriculum. Building positive relationships, encouraging confidence and creating a calm, supportive environment will be a key part of the role.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed. Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs would be beneficial, whether that's in a school, care, youth work or a similar setting, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
This is a rewarding position where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will become part of a supportive staff team and have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students who need it most.
Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and those looking to move into education are encouraged to apply.
If you'd like to be part of a school where your support genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
