SEN Teaching Assistant – Stockport
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Stockport. This rewarding role is perfect for individuals with experience in supporting students with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia. You will play a key role in providing tailored support to enhance the learning experience of students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them engage with the curriculum and make progress
- Work closely with teachers to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and adjust lesson materials to meet the needs of students
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and track students’ progress, providing feedback and reports to teachers and parents
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student development
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with students with SEN, ideally in a secondary school setting
- Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and the ability to apply it in practice
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable)

Location: Stockport
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: From £85 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
