SEMH Teaching Assistant – September Opportunity – Totton, Southampton

Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in children’s lives this September?

We are currently supporting a welcoming primary school in Totton, Southampton, who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who thrives on building positive relationships and supporting pupils with SEMH needs to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis as well as delivering targeted intervention support within small groups. The school is looking for someone who can bring patience, consistency and a positive approach to every school day, helping pupils feel supported both academically and emotionally.

The ideal educator will:
• Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs
• Be confident working 1:1 and leading intervention groups
• Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Remain calm, adaptable and proactive within challenging situations
• Work effectively alongside teaching staff and external professionals
• Be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
