Experienced Learning Support Assistant – SEN Focus
Lordshill, Southampton |  September 2025 Start | Full-Time

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs?

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a supportive and inclusive infant school in Southampton, to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time role starting in September. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has previously supported pupils with SEN and is confident in helping children overcome barriers to learning.

The Role:
You’ll be working closely with pupils who require additional support – both 1:1 and in small groups – to help them access the curriculum and feel confident in their learning. The needs of the pupils may include autism, speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and other learning or behavioural challenges.

You’ll also be working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals to support the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure each pupil receives the care and attention they need to succeed.

Key Details:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Long-term position from September 2025, with potential for permanent placement

  • Based in a friendly and well-led primary school in Lordshill, Southampton

  • Competitive weekly pay, paid directly through PAYE

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • Brings a calm, patient, and consistent approach to support

  • Is confident working with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff alike

  • Is proactive, reliable, and ready to make a difference each day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
