SEN Teaching Assistant – Sheffield & Rotherham

Location: Sheffield & Rotherham

Pay: £93 – £110 per day

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities

We are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within specialist SEN schools and alternative provisions across Sheffield and Rotherham, supporting pupils with PMLD, SEMH, challenging behaviour, and complex needs.

This is a hands-on role for someone confident with personal care, behaviour support, and building strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs
• Deliver personal care and assist with moving & handling
• Implement behaviour strategies for SEMH and challenging behaviour
• Work 1:1 and in small groups
• Support emotional regulation and engagement
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs

Ideal Candidate:
✅ Experience in SEN schools, care, or residential settings
✅ Confident supporting personal care and behaviour
✅ Team Teach training desirable (or willingness to train)
✅ Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
