SEN Teaching Assistant (ALN Support)
Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff
Contract: Full Time, until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
Are you a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment?
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) across primary settings in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area. This role plays a vital part in helping children access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
- Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
- Offer one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development
- Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to meet individual learning needs
- Contribute to an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring, and empathetic to individual pupil needs
- Passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs
- Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different classroom settings
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Experienced in SEN/ALN or primary education (desirable but not essential)
Requirements
Teaching Personnel provides guidance and support in obtaining:
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- References covering the last two years of employment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
