Job description

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Portsmouth)

We are working with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Portsmouth seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs within the classroom.

This role involves working closely with pupils with SEN, providing tailored support to help them access learning, build confidence and thrive in a mainstream setting. The successful candidate will be nurturing, patient and confident supporting children with a range of needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting

  • Be calm, caring and patient, with a strong understanding of individual needs

  • Be confident supporting learning on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Work well as part of a class team alongside teachers and SENCO

  • Be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
