Key Stage 1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Peckham
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Peckham. This full time position is required to start April 15th until July 2024 with potential to extend into next academic year. The school would ideally like an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant but would also consider applications from those with experience of working with children in alternative settings with a desire to work with children with high needs in the education sector.

The Role of a Key Stage 1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
• The position is for an SEN teaching assistant to work with primarily two children in the Year 1 class, roles for Key stage 2 are also available within the school
• You will work alongside the SEN team and closely with the students to achieve their educational goals
• Support the class teacher in the delivery of their lessons when needed
• offer 1:1 and 1:2 support for students with a range of needs
• Have input in class planning, supervision and assessment of the children you are working with
• Working hours from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
• Full time role starting April - July 2024
What do you need:
• Have an understanding SEN and desire to work with children with special needs
• Experience with SEN children is desirable - ASD and ADHD in particular
• Hold an Enhanced Child workforce DBS with an update service subscription, or be willing to apply for one through teaching personnel
• Have a full updated CV, outlining employment covering the last two years - any gaps in employment must be accounted for
• References to cover the past two years
