SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Specialist School (Enfield)
Start Date: After Easter 2026

We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive specialist ASD school in Enfield. This school provides tailored education for students with complex ASD needs, with a high proportion of pupils who are non-verbal and require a structured, nurturing environment.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students with complex ASD and high sensory/communication needs
- Work 1:1 or in small groups depending on pupil requirements
- Use communication tools such as PECS, visual timetables, or Makaton (experience beneficial but not essential)
- Assist with personal care, including toileting, hygiene support, and general physical care
- Implement behaviour support strategies with guidance from the SEN team
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff
- Help create a calm, safe, structured learning environment
What We’re Looking For
You do not need previous school experience, but you must have:
- A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
- Confidence working with non-verbal students and complex ASD presentations
- Willingness to provide personal care
- Patience, resilience, and a calm, positive approach
- Reliability – especially for full-time roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
