Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: NG3, Nottingham
Salary / Pay Rate: £93 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, term time only (temporary with potential to become permanent)
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
About the Role
We are recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a school based in the NG3 area of Nottingham. The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, both in the classroom and through targeted small group or 1:1 support.
You will be working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to help pupils access learning and stay engaged in school routines.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
- Assist with learning activities and adapt resources where needed
- Support pupils with communication, behaviour and social interaction
- Help maintain a structured and calm learning environment
- Work alongside teachers to follow individual support plans
- Monitor pupil progress and feed back to staff where appropriate
- Encourage independence and confidence in pupils
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience preferred)
- Understanding of SEN needs such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties
- A patient and consistent approach
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to support different age groups and needs
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
