Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in the Newham area. Join our dedicated team and help create an inclusive learning environment for students with unique requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, ensuring their educational, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing individualized learning activities and strategies.
  • Help students overcome barriers to learning by adapting materials and resources as necessary.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, promoting independence and positive behavior.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Establish effective communication channels with parents and caregivers to ensure a consistent approach to learning at home and school.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Possess a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
  • A positive and resilient attitude, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Knowledge of relevant teaching methods and strategies for special needs education.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent certification.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is £80-£95 per day, based on qualifications and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
