SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in specialist SEN and behaviour schools in the Newcastle area. This is a rewarding role for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on young people with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASC, ADHD, and SEMH
- Assist with managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning and support plans
- Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and development
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or behavioural needs
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
