Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time 

About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a specialist school in Leatherhead. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by helping them access education, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting preferred)
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
