About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist school in Leatherhead. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff, you will provide both classroom and individual support to pupils with a range of needs, which may include autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

Encourage independence and positive engagement in learning.

Support pupils during lessons, break times, and school activities.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
The Ideal Candidate

Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (preferred but not essential).

Is patient, empathetic, and resilient.

Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
Is committed to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and development.

Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (desirable).
-
Relevant training in SEN, safeguarding, or behaviour support is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
