SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Secondary School

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Leamington Spa, starting ASAP.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to the educational experience and development of young people with additional needs.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with a range of special educational needs.
• Support students to engage positively with their learning and the wider school environment.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual students' needs.
• Encourage confidence, independence and progress.
• Use your initiative and professional judgement when supporting students.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the school's wider SEN team.

‍ We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children or young people.
• Have experience supporting children/young people with SEN or additional needs.
• Be patient, caring, attentive and approachable.
• Be professional, reliable and trustworthy.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be confident working on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Be willing to commit to a full-time role.
• Be able to travel to Leamington Spa by car or public transport.
• Hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Any additional SEN, education or childcare qualifications would be highly beneficial.
