Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Provision: 2-year programme for students aged 16–25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We are seeking enthusiastic, proactive, and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team at a specialist Resource Base linked to Gloucestershire College. Our staff and students are warm, welcoming, and deeply committed to building strong, supportive relationships. The provision supports young people aged 16–25, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and require personalised support to achieve their learning, social, and independence goals.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students build essential life skills and confidence. Your support will extend beyond the classroom, blending practical help with emotional and social guidance. You will:
✨ Support students with everyday life skills such as meal preparation, shopping, money management, washing clothes, and bed-making
✨ Provide personal care with dignity, sensitivity, and respect
✨ Support off-site learning opportunities, including community visits and local trips
✨ Help students make the most of our sensory room, supporting emotional regulation, calm, and communication
✨ Celebrate achievements, encourage engagement, and collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to meet EHCP targets
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, empathy, and resilience to this highly rewarding role. The ideal candidate will:
Be adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic
Have experience supporting learners with PMLD and complex needs
Demonstrate a nurturing, empathetic approach while maintaining high expectations for behaviour
Encourage independence and communication development
Work effectively as part of a team while also showing initiative
✔️ Essential Requirements
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
Experience supporting learners with PMLD / complex needs
Experience providing personal care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
