SEN Teaching Assistant – DH7 Area

Location: DH7 (Durham and surrounding areas)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary and secondary settings within the DH7 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans.
  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or care setting).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
