Teaching Assistant

Location: Chaldon, Surrey
Contract: Permanent, term time only (40 hours per week)
Salary: £24,139.67 – £25,819.26 (£13.51 – £14.45 per hour)
Plus: £1,000 welcome bonus*

We are recruiting Teaching Assistants for a new SEND secondary school opening in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school at the start of its journey and help shape a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The school supports pupils aged 11–16 with autism and related needs, including social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing. Pupils learn in small classes with high levels of support and a personalised curriculum aligned to the national curriculum.

The Role
You will support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and behaviour, helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment. This may include personal care support and implementing positive behaviour strategies. The role is primarily based in Chaldon, with occasional work at a satellite site in Caterham.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupil learning, engagement and emotional regulation

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Promote independence and positive behaviour

  • Assist with lesson delivery and preparation of resources

  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and wellbeing

  • Safeguard pupils in line with school policies

This role is ideal for someone passionate about SEN education who wants to make a lasting impact in a supportive and forward-thinking school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
