Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Immediate Start)

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Essential: A full UK driving licence and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service are required to start quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with MLD and additional needs.
  • Assist in lesson planning and delivery under teacher guidance.
  • Support students’ emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Maintain a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally MLD.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – essential for on-site and off-site activities.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or willingness to obtain one immediately.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and a proactive attitude.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
