Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Start date: September 2024
Contract type: Full time (Mon-Fri, 8:45-3:30pm) ongoing
Pay rate: £12.90 p/h
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing 1-1 and general support to pupils with additional needs, tailoring the curriculum and daily structure to ensure they have a smooth and successful school experience. You will facilitate the child’s participation in classroom activities, promote social interaction and support their individual learning and development. You will be required to implement positive behaviour strategies and facilitate the child’s communication and language development through alternative communication methods.
Role requirements:
- Relevant experience supporting children with SEN.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
- Empathy, patience and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
This specialist provision in Burnley caters for children aged 11-16 years who require additional support for a variety of needs including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, MLD and PMLD.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
