Job description
Teaching Assistant – Location: Bristol (BS35)
Hourly Rate: £12.87 to £14.03 per hour
FULL TIME - MONDAY - FRIDAY
This specialist setting is a bespoke school for young people aged 11–16 with SEMH needs. It brings together the strongest elements of both mainstream and special education to create a nurturing, structured environment where pupils are supported to achieve their personal goals and thrive .

The Role
The Teaching Assistant will support pupils with their learning and overall wellbeing, helping to ensure every young person has the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and caring environment. This may include providing personal care when required and supporting positive behaviour through a tailored, individualised approach.
Key Duties

Build warm, supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and ready to learn

Promote independence and personal development while maintaining consistently high expectations of behaviour

Support the delivery of high-quality, engaging and differentiated learning activities across a broad and balanced curriculum

Work closely with the Class Teacher to support the day-to-day running of the classroom

Adapt flexibly to the changing needs of the school to ensure smooth daily operations

Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical and spiritual development

Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Under the guidance of senior staff, complete required documentation relating to behaviour, incidents, health and wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
