Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Do you have the patience, resilience and compassion to make a real difference every day?

We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils within specialist educational settings in Bournemouth. These roles involve working with children and young people with severe and complex Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Needs You May Support Include:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Challenging behaviour
  • ADHD and sensory processing difficulties
  • Non-verbal communication needs
  • Personal care and mobility support requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be calm, patient and emotionally resilient
  • Have experience working with children or adults with special educational needs
  • Be confident supporting challenging behaviours positively and safely
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be adaptable and proactive in a classroom environment
  • Show empathy, consistency and a nurturing approach
  • Be willing to support personal care where required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
