Job description

Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Bournemouth

Full-time and Part-time Positions Available

I’m currently supporting one of my wonderful Primary Schools in Bournemouth, and we’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team. This school has a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, a supportive staff, and a real passion for helping every child shine — and they’re excited to welcome someone who shares those values.

What will your day look like?

  • Working closely with the class teacher to help bring lessons and activities to life.

  • Offering nurturing 1:1 or small-group support for children who may need a little extra encouragement with their learning.

  • Helping pupils build their confidence, develop new skills and feel happy and settled in school.

  • Bringing positivity, professionalism and energy to the classroom — whether you're working independently or alongside the wider team.

What are we hoping you’ll bring?

  • A good understanding of Early Years, KS1 or KS2, with the flexibility to support across different year groups when needed.

  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children.

  • The ability to give helpful guidance and celebrate the small steps of progress.

  • Strong communication skills, reliability and a team-first approach.

  • A confident grasp of literacy, numeracy and general classroom support.

What’s in it for you?

  • Weekly pay every Friday at a competitive rate.

  • Term-time only schedule, offering a great balance alongside school holidays.

  • Opportunities to grow and develop — including pathways into unqualified teaching roles.

  • Free access to training such as Level 2 Safeguarding and a range of CPD courses.

  • Full flexibility over your diary, so you can choose when and where you work.

If you’d like to join a lovely local school where you can make a real difference each day - Get in touch and I’ll happily tell you more about the role!
