SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – September Start

We are working with a highly regarded specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2–19 years with a range of complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Communication and sensory needs
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker to join a dynamic and nurturing team from September on a full-time basis.
The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual EHCP targets
- Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and personal development
- Support the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
- Implement behaviour support strategies and sensory approaches
- Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Support with personal care where required
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction
✅ Requirements – What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this Teaching Assistant role, you will ideally have:
- Experience working with SEN / SEND / SEMH / autism / complex needs
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care) – desirable but not essential
- Backgrounds in care, youth work, psychology or support work are highly transferable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
