SEN Teaching Assistant – Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham
Salary: Pay to scale (Depending on level of experience)
Contract: Full-time / Part time

We are working in partnership with inclusive and nurturing primary mainstream and specialist schools across Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham, who are currently seeking SEN Teaching Assistants. These schools support pupils with SEN and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and are committed to creating structured and supportive learning environments where every child can thrive.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support across primary settings
Support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and positive routines
Support emotional regulation and encourage engagement in learning
Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide consistent support and care
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
Has a background in care, youth work, education, or mental health support
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Builds positive relationships quickly and maintains a calm, consistent approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
