Make a Real Difference Every Day

Teaching Personnel is recruiting five dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school on a temp-to-permanent basis. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to have a lasting impact on the lives of children with complex additional needs.

Successful candidates will initially be employed through Teaching Personnel before moving onto a permanent contract directly with the school following a successful placement.

We're looking for resilient, caring individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. While this role can be challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding for those who are committed to making a genuine difference.

The Role

You will work closely with pupils with a range of severe and complex learning needs, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.

  • Supporting children with a range of needs, including:

    • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

    • ADHD

    • Physical disabilities

    • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

  • Assisting with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity, respect, and safeguarding.

  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learning and care plans.

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEND in education, care, or support settings.

  • Is patient, resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

  • Has experience or knowledge of supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, or PMLD.

  • Is comfortable supporting pupils with personal care when required.

  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Is committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the lives of children with complex needs.

What We Offer

  • Five permanent opportunities within a specialist school.

  • Competitive rates of pay.

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant.

  • Access to professional development and specialist SEND training.

  • A clear pathway from temporary employment with Teaching Personnel to a permanent contract with the school.

  • The chance to build a rewarding career where no two days are the same, and every day has the potential to change a child's life.

If you're looking for a role where your patience, compassion, and resilience will truly make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
